Bat Cave Volunteer Fire Department

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide superior firefighting and emergency services to the residents within the Bat Cave fire district and mutual aid throughout Henderson County as needed.

ISO rating is a 4
Staffed entirely by volunteers
Average 6 N.C. Certified Emergency Medical Technicians on our roster
Respond to about 200 incidents each year (medical, fire, rescue, public service)
One station operated/maintained
Station not staffed, staff is entirely “On-Call”
All members issued pagers, radios, and personal protective clothing
Automatic Mutual Aid Companies:
- Gerton
- Edneyville
- Broad River
- Chimney Rock
